DON'T SET OFF THE ALARM -- The FBI arrested a 64-year old Simi, CA bank robber after he was positively identified from his photo on Facebook.  Would have gotten away with it, too, if he hadn't made the mistake of friending the bank guard and three tellers.

READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? -- Los Angeles sports fans got some good news and bad news last week.  The good news:  AEG has partnered with the city to build a $314 million NFL stadium.  The bad news:  to afford a team, they'll have to hire replacement refs.

FUN IN THE SUN -- Donald Trump is on the hook to pay a $7.25 million judgement to investors he bilked on a Baja California resort scheme that went bust. The disgruntled plaintiffs should have known they were in trouble just from the project's title:  "Trump's Cabo San Lucrative."

GOOD HUMOR MAN -- A sharp Manhattan entrepreneur charges high school students $1 a day to store the cell phones they're banned from bringing to school.  There's an additional benefit, too.  The radiation from a couple of thousand cell phones recharges his Chevy Volt.

NEW IN TOWN? -- We know unemployment is Spain is rampant, but a school in Valencia is now offering a course in prostitution plus a job on graduation.  It sure turns well-practiced conventions upside down.  For instance, last week a professor was arrested for NOT sleeping with one of his students.

WakiLeaks: History Declassified 2000 (Vol. One) is now available on Kindle for $2.99

Compiled from Bob's newsletter "Funnyside Up" published in 2000. This is a yuck and chuckle-filled stroll down memory lane to a time before the Bush administration had inflicted its damage -- a time before the search for WMDs and Osama bin Laden. See what we were laughing at back then, who was in the news and who had yet to enter rehab -- which NFL stars had yet to do time in the Gray Bar Hotel.
